In person meeting this Sunday the 16th and the theme is: FIRE
Fire; an essential element in the making of Japanese swords, we are looking for hitatsura blades or blades with tobiyaki to illustrate the activity of fire in the forging process. A fierce element in a world of wood and paper; frequent fires were known as “the flowers of Edo”, how many masterpieces must have been lost? Do you have pieces that show evidence of fire or re-tempering? Kodogu with images of Fudo Myoo standing in flames? Bring them in for us to share. Do not forget there will be a very “hot” blade for kantei as well.–
