Paul L. Davidson died November 22, 2020, following complications from a stroke. Paul was born in Bentonville, Arkansas March 6, 1947, to Paul C. and Inola Davidson. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ronald Davidson and he is survived by his wife, Christine Horwart.
Following his graduation from high school, Paul served in the United States Marine Corps. Paul was enlisted from May 13, 1966 until May 12, 1968. During his military service, Paul achieved “Expert Rifleman” in marksmanship training.
Following his military service, Paul earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville. Paul practiced law in Bentonville for over forty years, servicing businesses and individuals in a wide range of matters throughout his career.
Paul was a disciplined practitioner of Tae-Kwando and attained the level of 2nd degree black belt. Paul had a passion for Japanese Art Swords and Japanese Military Armor. Paul taught himself both written and spoken Japanese and traveled to Japan annually. Paul was instrumental in the formation of the American branch of the Nippon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK), the Society for the Preservation of Japanese Art Swords. Paul served as the President of the American Branch since its inception in 2003. The American Branch and the European Branch are currently the only two branches outside of Japan that have been organized under the authority of the NBTHK.
Due to COVID-19, the celebration of Paul’s life will be postponed until a later date. Memorials in Paul’s honor may be made to the American Branch of the Nippon Bijutsu Token Hozon Kyokai (NBTHK), a non-profit organization. Donations may be mailed to:
